According to the strap-line GOclassifieds is “where you go”, presumably for advertising, but not for us. We set out to place an advert for the gig in the ‘Community Notices” section of a local freebie paper – $12.50 + (GST) for up to fifty words – you’d be a mug not to take up that offer, particularly if you, like most voluntary community organizations are underfunded. An underfunded friendship society putting a little effort into helping others – Cuban hurricane survivors.
Our advert was rejected because it referred to “websites* which contain propaganda” however the email continues “ Even without the websites we cannot place them in community notices. “ If you’re really keen you can see all the correspondence here.
